Most people have irrational fears of some sort. Whether it’s of flying, or confined spaces, or water, or people, the best method is always facing those fears head on. TL;DR version: the psychologist forced the clinic participants to go out into the real world and get over their fears by interacting with people. Turns out real people aren’t that scary and he got over his fears.
